Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration ("OFNAA") organised the Healthy Game Coding Contest (the “Coding Contest”) in 2017 to encourage youngsters to unleash their creativity in creating computer games with a view to promoting the importance of staying away from objectionable materials. The contest received overwhelming response. The contestants put a lot of thoughts in creating the games, and presented a myriad of creative ideas. To take forward the creative ideas of the computer games, OFNAA is organising the “Healthy Animation Script Creation Contest” in 2018/19 academic year. Contestants are invited to create animation scripts based on the winning entries of the Coding Contest with a view to promoting the message of staying away from objectionable materials. The champion script will be used for production of a 2-minute animation and the winner will be invited to participate in the production of the animation.
To promote the Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance (“COIAO”) (Chapter 390, Laws of Hong Kong) to the public, especially the youngsters, through creation of animation script. The foregoing seeks to enhance their understanding of the Ordinance and encourage youngsters to stay away from obscene and indecent materials and violent electronic games.
The entries should encourage a positive thinking and promote the COIAO in a lively way with a view to disseminating the message of staying away from objectionable materials using creative ideas.
