Content of entries

Participants should create a script for producing a 2-minute animation based on one of the following winning game stories.

○○○和一位名為「◇◇◇」的同學關係良好,經常一起參加活動。但最近○○○發現「◇◇◇」漸漸變得舉止怪異,行蹤飄忽。後來,「◇◇◇」在學校多次與同學打架,結果被停學,兩人日漸疏遠。有一天,一隻叫「□□□」的精靈突然出現在○○○面前:「你的朋友「◇◇◇」被一隻叫「△△△」的精靈教唆,沉迷暴力遊戲和色情刊物,還打算出版及售賣有關產品賺錢,只有你才能阻止他和幫助他重回正途……

有一天,「☆☆☆」發現「▽▽▽」、「⌂⌂⌂」及「◊ ◊ ◊」設下陷阱,如果其他人一時大意,就會跌入陷阱,沉迷於不良資訊和暴力遊戲,為了拯救大家,她必須尋找方法避開陷阱,她決定聯同好友「◎◎◎」進行一場大冒險……

“○○○”, “◇◇◇”, “□□□”, “△△△”, “☆☆☆”, “▽▽▽” , “⌂⌂⌂” “◊ ◊ ◊” and “◎◎◎”are the names of the characters. Participants are free to name their characters or create new characters.

To facilitate contestants in obtaining a better understanding of the story of the winning entries of the Coding Contest, participants are welcome to browse the snapshots of the winning entries on OFNAA’s website, or visit OFNAA to watch the videos of the winning entries/ trying out the winning games.  The address and opening hours of OFNAA are as follows (Reservations required) -

Enrolment and Submission

Participants should submit the enrolment forms and their entries on or before 12 July 2019-
  • by email (email address: healthyscript@ofnaa.gov.hk). Please specify “Healthy Animation Script Creation Contest” in the subject heading of the email; or
  • by hand or post to the Office for Film, Newspaper and Article Administration (Address: 39/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong). Please specify “Healthy Animation Script Creation Contest” on the envelope

Secondary School Group

Submission Guidelines:


  • Participants should submit an animation script in Chinese for the production of a 2-minute animation  
    Word limit for Secondary School Group: between 500 and 2,000 words (including punctuation)
  • Participants should provide titles for their respective entries (no more than 20 words)
  • ​The story must be the participant’s original work
  • Each participant can submit one entry only for the contest
  • All entries must be animation scripts either in the form of manuscripts or computer printouts.  Manuscripts may be written on white A4 paper, script paper or single-lined paper.  For computer printouts, Microsoft Word should be used. 新細明體should be adopted for text with font size 12.  Participants should mark the total number of words (excluding the title) in Arabic numerals at the end of the script.  The organiser reserves the right not to accept any entries which do not comply with the prescribed formats

  • Participants should provide titles for their respective entries (no more than 20 words)
  • ​The story must be the participant’s original work
  • Each participant can submit one entry only for the contest
  • All entries must be animation scripts either in the form of manuscripts or computer printouts.  Manuscripts may be written on white A4 paper, script paper or single-lined paper.  For computer printouts, Microsoft Word should be used. 新細明體should be adopted for text with font size 12.  Participants should mark the total number of words (excluding the title) in Arabic numerals at the end of the script.  The organiser reserves the right not to accept any entries which do not comply with the prescribed formats

50% Content – Promotion of the theme of the Contest
30% Creativity and innovative idea - Creative concept and ways of portrayal
10% Impact and retention - Impression on public
10% Writing skill - Structure and rhetoric

Contest Information

  • All entries must be the participants’ original work, and have never been published before.  Participants must ensure that their works do not infringe the intellectual property rights of any other persons.
  • All entries must not contain any content that is obscene, indecent, provocative, or slandering, or promotes individual, commercial, religious or political interests, lest the entries may be disqualified.
  • The results of the contest decided by the adjudication panel shall be final.  The contest results will be announced at an award presentation ceremony to be held in September 2019 (tentative).
  • The organiser reserves the right to amend the rules and other arrangements of the contest without prior notification to the participants.
  • Personal data submitted by the participants will only be used for purposes related to the contest and its promotion and publicity.
  • OFNAA has the right to use/publish the entries for promoting the COIAO or related purposes, as well as the authority to revise, translate, edit, use, duplicate or distribute wholly or partly the contents of the entries without obtaining the participants’ prior consent or paying any fees to them.
  • Participants must agree to transfer unconditionally to OFNAA any intellectual property rights subsisting in the entries submitted for the contest. The copyright of all submitted entries is vested solely in OFNAA. OFNAA will not return the entries to the participants. OFNAA will upload the winning entries to the website of the contest and related websites for publicity and promotion purpose.
  • Participants have the right of access and correction with respect to their personal data in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance if required.
